Instagram launches Notes tool and tests new features; see news

Instagram announced, this Tuesday (13), the launch of the Notes tool, which allows short publications of up to 60 characters, similar to a post-it. In addition, the platform tests new features that should be implemented soon.

To leave a note, the user must select, at the top of their inbox, their followers or people from their Close Friends list. The note will be available at the top of your inbox for 24 hours, and responses will arrive as direct messages.

Aiming at competitor BeReal, Instagram also made news available in stories. Users will be able to share what they’re up to in a story that’s only visible to sharers. The resource was called “Stories Spontaneous”.

An update to the “Your Turn” tool will allow users to invite friends to join trends by tapping the “pass it on” sticker. According to the platform, the interactive commands “inspire people to share in creative and unplanned ways”.

Finally, Instagram introduced the “group profiles” and “collaborative collections” functions. In the first, users will be able to create profiles to share publications and stories with friends.

In the second, people have the option to save publications in a collaborative collection in groups or in individual direct messages.
