The Weekly Consumer Price Index (IPC-S), of the Brazilian Institute of Economics, of the GetĂșlio Vargas Foundation (FGV Ibre), advanced 0.79% in the quadrissemana. The result was announced on Wednesday (8) by the institution. In the last 12 months, the inflation indicator is accumulated at 10.4%.
This time, five of the eight classes analyzed contributed to the result, with emphasis on the housing component, which changed from -1.37% in the previous week to -0.15% in the current week. The behavior was mainly influenced by the residential electricity tariff, which changed from -4.99% to -9.34%.
The inflation rate recorded in food accelerated from 0.45% to 0.73%. In education, reading and recreation, it went from 3.12% to 3.43%. Similar behavior occurred with clothing (from 1.21% to 1.62%) and health and personal care (0.87% to 0.89%).
Regarding the items analyzed, the cost of air tickets has slowed down: inflation went from 16.33% to 15.40%. As for men’s clothing, it grew: from 1.55% to 2.12%.
In the transport group, there was a deceleration: from 1.02% to 0.62%. A fall driven by the variation in licensing â IPVA (1.22% to 0%). The telephony, internet and pay-TV combo, which was at -0.18%, dropped again and closed at -0.61%.
