Inflation, interest and fiscal uncertainty: the direction and doubts of the economy in 2022

After successive increases in prices and with the inflation rate remaining above 10% in the last 12 months, the Central Bank promoted last Wednesday (27) the sixth consecutive increase in the Selic rate, which reached the level of 7 .75% per year. The economic scenario is also influenced by concerns about the risk of imbalance in public accounts.

The worsening of the indicators affects, in particular, lower-income families, with the loss of purchasing power, and has a negative impact on economic activity, which makes the fight against unemployment more difficult.
