The Federal Ministry of Health of India announced today Thursday that in the previous 24 hours 7,974 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed and 343 patients died due to complications of COVID-19.
With 476,478 deaths out of a total of 34,718,602 infections since the outbreak of the new coronavirus in its territory, the subcontinent with 1.3 billion inhabitants records the third heaviest death toll in the world in absolute terms, behind the US and B higher number of cases, behind the US, according to official data.
The so-called active cases decreased to 87,245 (–317 in 24 hours). This is the lowest number recorded since March 2020, always according to the Ministry of Health.
