The Ultraman statue in Shanghai took down the world Guinness record as it is the largest statue dedicated to the Japanese superhero. The statue at the Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park theme park, standing 10.4 meters tall and depicting Ultraman in a blue and red costume and his signature pose as he prepares to defend Earth, is the largest in the world.
The impressive sculpture was made by a team of 20 people, it weighs 3.8 tons and welcomes visitors to the Ultraman universe themed section of the theme park.
Ultraman was created as the title of a 1966 television series. The character holds the record for the most spin-off television series, with a total of 33 following the original which ran from July 1966 to April 1967. The most recent TV spin-off series titled “Ultraman X” aired in 2015.
