In Russia, special devices may appear in taxi cars to control driver fatigue. This initiative was put forward by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
The draft federal law “On Taxi”, which was posted on the portal with draft regulations, says that the Ministry of Transport proposes to equip taxi service cars with special devices to control the attention and fatigue (drowsiness) of taxi drivers. There are other innovations in the law under consideration that the department proposes to introduce into the taxi service. In particular, the Ministry of Transport wants a special orange identification lamp and an image of the state registration number to be installed on the roof of the taxi, and the car body itself (its side parts) was painted according to a scheme that is a composition of squares of contrasting color, arranged in a checkerboard pattern.
Now the bill on the organization of transportation of passengers and luggage by passenger taxis in Russia is at the stage of public discussion. If the law is approved by the government of the country, it will enter into force on September 1 of the next year.
