The Ministry of Energy called the territories of Russia, which may apply to mining, TACC reports. According to the agency, cryptocurrencies can limit the extraction of cryptocurrencies in the northern part of Karelia, the Penza region and part of the Khakassia. He writes about this RBC Crypto.

Earlier, in the apparatus of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, they told the publication that the government commission in May may consider the issue of mining in a number of constituent entities of the Russian Federation. At the same time, only Khakassia was mentioned in the device.

From January 1, 2025, mining has already been banned in 10 regions, including the Republic of the North Caucasus, DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. Since April 7, a complete ban also has a full ban in the south of the Irkutsk region. In Buryatia and Transbaikalia, mining is prohibited in peak periods of energy consumption.

The director of the Ministry of Energy of the Ministry of Energy Andrei Maksimov also spoke about the possible expansion of the list of regions for the ban on mining. According to him, the authorities of several regions expressed interest in the introduction of restrictions. However, he did not specify, we are talking about a complete or seasonal ban.

Meanwhile, in the Irkutsk region, where a year -round ban on mining is now valid, problems with a deficiency of electricity, which were called the main reason for the ban, did not end. The capacities that were released could not be redistributed. In the region, discussions are ongoing between the authorities, energy and representatives of the industry, but it is not yet possible to find a general solution.

At the last round table about the effective use of energy resources, the chairman of the Government of the Irkutsk Region Konstantin Zaitsev said that he did not see a tax return or prospects for the mining industry, they previously reported to Irsity.

“Let’s honestly admit that no one understands the further work of this industry. At least I do not understand, ”Zaitsev quotes the publication.

Representatives of the industry insist that mining is promising, and the chairman of the industrial Union of Mayners and Operators of the Irkutsk Region Maria Esipova noted that primarily mining owners who began to lose their investors suffered from the ban on mining. According to her, another consequence of the ban may be that part of the industrial miners will “go into garages” and the load on household networks will be increased again.

Also, due to the prohibition of mining in the south of the Irkutsk region, the Irkutsk electric grid company (IES) in the first quarter of 2025, the deputy general director of the development and technological accessions of IES Sergey heresov also reported during the round table, Interfax reported.

“We thought that the company did not receive about 800 million rubles. In the revenue due to the transfer tariff. And we still do not know what part of the revenue we will lose due to the total prohibition of mining, ”said heresov.
