In Russia, there are problems with the operation of wireless headphones: they can either fail (distort the sound, reduce the volume, stall), or completely disconnect from the paired devices. The problem is known to both the electronics market and RF specialists. This is reported by Izvestia.
According to Mobile Research Group analyst Eldar Murtazin, the reason lies in the 2.4 GHz radio frequency band used by wireless headphones: the capacity of this channel is limited, and when there are too many devices operating in the same range in the access zone, they begin to interfere with each other . In addition to headphones, a huge variety of other gadgets most often work at the 2.4 GHz radio frequency: routers, portable speakers, security systems, smart home gadgets, and more. Because of this, the problem occurs mainly in crowded places (in the subway, in stadiums) – for example, it is often noticed in the vicinity of Red Square.
However, the Ministry of Finance noted that short-range gadgets (typical consumer devices like the same headphones and routers) should not interfere. According to the department, this is only possible when using gadgets with a power exceeding that allowed by the state commission on radio frequencies.
