In “Renascer”, Vladimir Brichta will play his first villain

With more than 20 years of career, Vladimir Brichta will play, for the first time, a villain. In the remake of “Renascer”, which premieres this Monday (22), the actor will be responsible for playing Egídio, the powerful colonel from Ilhéus who will be a thorn in the side of José Inocêncio, played by Marcos Palmeira.

During the plot's launch party, the artist said he believes this will be the soap opera of his life. “In fact, I was planning my life and I wasn’t counting on the soap opera, exactly, during that period. But before being enchanted by Egídio, the possibility of participating in this soap opera was already enchanting for me”, he said in an interview with Gshow.

“This one had such a huge appeal, it is such a memorable soap opera for me, one of the soap operas that most marked my childhood, that I would be in it regardless of Egídio, and I wanted to be”, he assured.

Vladimir also confessed an extra reason for being in the cast: the story is set in Bahia – the state where he was born.

“The soap opera takes place in Bahia, in Ilhéus, I'm from Salvador, I pass through Ilhéus, my family is there. For me, as an actor from Bahia, it is important to be in this work. It would happen without me, without a doubt, but I’m happy to be able to contribute,” he said.

What to expect from Egídio

Creator of various evil acts, Egídio will be the main villain of the production. “It has all the attributes to be one of the worst”, said Brichta.

Spoiler alert

“Plans the death of José Inocêncio, who he considers an enemy, morally harasses his wife, harasses an employee, who is Joaninha, exploits workers’ labor, creates a situation analogous to slavery”, he finally delivered.

It is worth mentioning that in the first version of the story, shown in 1993, Egídio was called Teodoro and was played by actor Herson Capri.
