In operation, PF and PRF arrest police officers for diversion of seized goods

The Federal Police (PF) arrested seven people, including four agents from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), on suspicion of diverting goods seized in ParanĂ¡. The Internal Affairs of the PRF discovered the case, reported it to the PF and also participated in the action.

According to the PF, Operation Spoliare carried out this Thursday (10) is to dismantle this scheme involving public servants suspected of earning money from the sale of material seized and diverted.

The investigation began with the Internal Affairs of the PRF and evolved into the initiation of a procedure at the Federal Police, with the support of the Public Ministry. Of the arrested federal highway police officers, one is retired.

In this ostensive phase of the investigations, more than 150 federal police officers and 56 police officers from the PRF Internal Affairs are carrying out 55 search and seizure warrants, seven precautionary arrest warrants, 11 removal orders from public service and two asset freezing orders.

The actions took place in the cities of Foz do Iguaçu (PR), Santa Terezinha de Itaipu (PR), SĂ£o Miguel do Iguaçu (PR), Medianeira (PR), CĂ©u Azul (PR), Cascavel (PR), Toledo (PR), TelĂªmaco Borba (PR), Curitiba (PR) and SĂ£o Paulo (SP).

In addition to the arrests, seven federal highway police officers investigated will be removed from their duties and will respond to administrative disciplinary proceedings, within the PRF itself, which may result in the penalty of dismissal, respecting due process of law.

According to the PF, it was also possible to collect evidence that those involved sold the products on e-commerce platforms, or had the help of other people to dispose of the material, usually sent to SĂ£o Paulo.

The civil servants involved will be liable for functional offenses envisaged as crimes against the Public Administration, and, if convicted, will be subject to maximum penalties that, together, exceed 30 years in prison.
