According to the latest coronavirus statistics released by Germany’s Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the European powerhouse reported 6,868 new infections on Tuesday.
The total count is now 373,167. The number of deaths rose sharply to 47, bringing the total to 9,836. The daily death count is the highest since late May.
Despite worrying German statistics, optimism about the COVID-19 vaccine continues, after the latest update from Moderna Inc.
The CEO of the US pharmaceutical giant said on Tuesday that interim results of the COVID-19 vaccine will come out in November, after which the federal government may authorize emergency use of the company’s experimental vaccine in December, as quoted by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
