In book, Elliot Page reveals secret romance and sex behind the scenes of “Juno”

Canadian actor Elliot Page, known for his roles in “Juno” and “The Umbrella Academy”, launched his autobiography, “Pageboy” globally this month (published by Intrínseca in Brazil).

In two days, the work has already drawn attention for its revelations, with behind-the-scenes details and intimate questions about sex, love, trauma and Hollywood.

Elliot, who in December 2020 announced that he was transgender, talks about the violence suffered by trans people, in addition to the lack of spaces for people from the community in the media. He was the first transgender on the cover of Time magazine, in March 2021.

Check out some of the revelations:

sex everywhere

In the autobiography, Elliot says he had a secret and torrid relationship with actress Olivia Thirlby, stating that the sex between the two was the first time he reached orgasm. “We started having sex all the time: in her hotel room, in our trailers at work, once in a small private room at a restaurant. We thought we were being subtle. Being intimate with Olivia helped my shame melt away.”

Hollywood Harassment and Violence

According to Elliot, when he was still a teenager, a director started giving him presents and taking him places. He claims to have been the victim of harassment.

“He took me to dinner at the Swan on Queen West. Stroking my thigh under the table, he whispered, ‘You have to do the move, I can’t,’” she says.

And that wasn’t the only episode. He recalls that a co-worker sexually assaulted him at age 18 while looking for an apartment. The actor also reports that he was approached at a birthday party, when he had not yet announced that he was trans, by a famous man who questioned his orientation. “You are not gay. That does not exist. You’re just afraid of men,” the actor told Page. “I’m going to have sex with you to make you realize you’re not gay.”

The Kiss That Changed Everything

Elliot says his first meaningful kiss was with a woman named Paula at a bar called Reflections, which he visited just before the “Juno” movie premiere. “At a gay bar. In front of everyone around us. I was beginning to understand what all those poems were about, what all the fuss was about.”

post surgery recovery

According to Elliot, the most painful point after breast removal surgery was removing drains. He says he has no words to describe when he removed the vest and nipple bandages were made.

secret relationship

Elliot revealed that, shortly after coming out as gay, in 2014, he engaged in a secret relationship with Kate Mara, who, at the time, was engaged to Max Minghella. According to him, it was the first time he had fallen in love after having his heart broken.

support network

In his memoirs, the actor mentions the support of different actresses, including Kristen Wiig, Alia Shawkat and Catherine Keener, who he characterizes as “someone I could trust and turn to without question”.
