The Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, said that in the second half of 2026, the digital version of the national currency will be available for private and state -owned companies.

According to the head of the National Bank, by 2027 the digital ruble will be available to state bodies and individuals.

“We are actively working on its creation. First of all, we have the issue of preserving funds. This is a question, as I call, the coloring of funds. That is, for the state, for example, it will be very important to be able to trace how digital money pass throughout the chain, ”the official said.

Now the National Bank is developing requirements for the platform of the Belarusian digital ruble and is preparing a regulatory framework for regulation of calculations, Golovchenko said. He called it extremely relevant the issue of using the digital currency of the Central Bank in foreign trade calculations.

“In this regard, we interact tightly with the Russian Federation, which also follows the path of creating our digital ruble. But it is very important that these currencies, as they say, communicate with each other and we can carry out cross -border transactions. ”

Now in parallel with the creation of the infrastructure of the Belarusian digital ruble, work is underway on the use of payment instruments in mutual calculations, the representative of the Central Bank said.
