Nathalia Timberg was the great honoree this Wednesday (30) at the 11th edition of the Bibi Ferreira Award at Teatro Santander, in the south of São Paulo. Emotional, the 95-year-old actress spoke to an audience full of celebrities and, modestly, said that she didn’t deserve to be in that place.
“It’s not fair. The places are switched, I should be there and you should be here. Suddenly, I find myself in the theater, which is one of the temples I enter in my life”, he began in his speech. “The theater is my home and my temple, whatever. It’s funny, any theater I enter, the first thing I do, the first thing I feel like doing, is passing my hand on that stage, which I ask permission to inhabit for some time, some moment”, quoted Nathalia Timberg about her visit through theaters.
In the wheelchair, the Bibi Ferreira Award honoree thanked the public for the affection she received and for the welcome she always received from the public.
“This moment that is given to me of entering and being on stage and sharing with you this extraordinary thing that is, emotion does that, we forget everything, even the blessings of our profession, the microphone holds on like this”, he joked to place it close to your mouth. “In fact, emotion is the main school of theater and is behind everything it has been teaching us, calling us and bringing us to our obligation to stay alive today”, he said.
Moved, she thanked him once again and asked for forgiveness for the “shower of tears”, which according to her, are “part of the emotion of receiving this honor”.

“To my colleagues, my friends, my teachers, my directors, everyone who shares with me this incredible privilege of being here with the theater”, he mentioned. “May each of us who tries to hold this baton, I hope to continue as long as I have the courage to continue bringing it to you”, said the nonagenarian.
“Most of those who are here are my colleagues and friends, they are my future descendants. To all those who represent the living theater among us, forever, I thank you”, he concluded.
The actress received the award from the actor Caco Ciocler and was applauded by the audience of celebrities.
