In a period of 48 hours, two men died in the region of Belo Horizonte after participating in a contest to enter the Criminal Police of Minas Gerais. The cause of death was not specified.
In a note sent to CNN the State Secretariat for Justice and Public Security (Sejusp) from Minas Gerais expressed deep regret for the deaths of the two contest candidates – which took place last Tuesday (10) and Thursday (12).
“Both presented a picture of sudden illness after the completion of the physical examination of endurance running”, reported Sejusp.
The tests took place at the Aeronautics Instruction and Adaptation Center (CIAAR) in Lagoa Santa, in Greater Belo Horizonte.
The two candidates received the first medical attention through the team that monitors the physical tests and were taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) of Vespasiano.
According to Sejusp, they arrived at the scene alive, but the health condition worsened and they died. One of them was even transferred to the ICU at Hospital Municipal Célio de Castro, in the capital Belo Horizonte.
“Sejusp and the National Institute of Selections and Contests (Selecon), the latter responsible for holding the event, accompanied the candidates and were in contact with the medical teams throughout the hospitalization period, providing all the support to the family members”, he pointed out. to Sejusp in the statement.
Death certificates were not available and the cause of death was not specified.
Sejusp argued that the candidates presented a liberatory medical report to carry out the physical test, and continues to monitor the case.
