So far, 42 bodies have been released to their families.

The bodies were sent to the Central IML in the capital of São Paulo, where a task force with around 40 professionals was set up since the date of the accident.

The team was made up of doctors, and specialists in forensic dentistry, anthropology and radiology.

Most of the bodies were identified by recognizing the fingerprints of the aircraft’s passengers and crew.

Despite the collection of genetic material from family members and the structure set up for recognition through DNA tests, the technique was not necessary.

During the investigation, the victims’ relatives were accommodated in a hotel in downtown São Paulo by the São Paulo government. More than 20 passengers were from the state of Paraná, where the aircraft had departed from and was supposed to land at Guarulhos Airport, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.

The removal of the bodies from the accident site was completed the day after the plane crash. The expert analysis has already been carried out and, now, representatives of Voepass and the insurance company hired by the company are working to remove the victims’ personal belongings.
