The Civil Police are investigating whether the missing boy in Barra da Tijuca, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, left the beach alone.
Images from waterfront monitoring cameras analyzed by investigators show Edson Davi da Silva Almeida, aged six, walking along the promenade unaccompanied for around 100 meters.
The registry, to which the CNN had access, it was recorded around 4 pm this Thursday (4).
At one point, the boy is near the tables of a kiosk when a man, identified by the police as someone who works in the region and who was known to the family, approaches. They talk for a few moments and then return to the sand once again.
According to the Whereabouts Discovery Police Station (DDPA), after that moment there are no more images of the child on the sidewalk. So far, the Civil Police have no suspects, as the recordings show the child alone almost all the time.
About two hours later, the cameras caught the father's despair, looking for Edson Davi. According to the person responsible, who has a tent on Barra beach, the boy was on vacation and stayed with him while his mother took the youngest son to a doctor's appointment.

Family members also said that the child has been going to the beach for years and is used to traveling there. According to witnesses, the boy was playing ball in the sand with a foreign man and two other children, when his father had to serve customers who wanted to close their bill at the stall. In this moment of distraction, the boy disappeared.
The DDPA investigation is ongoing. Agents continue to analyze images of the region and listen to witnesses to locate the boy. The Fire Department was also called and is carrying out searches at sea.
Furthermore, this Friday (5), the Disque Denúncia Missing Persons Program released a poster in an attempt to collect information that would lead to the whereabouts of Edson Davi.
