Nominated for an Oscar for “Best Original Song” and owner of one of the great awards performances on Sunday (10), the music “I'm Just Ken” he almost wasn't even in the live-action of “Barbie” .
Mark Ronson one of the track's producers, revealed that the hit was almost cut from the film . “In the first test screening, the music wasn’t working,” he said in an interview with the newspaper The Sunday Times.
The artist said that Greta Gerwig director of “Barbie”, had to “fight” to include the song in the film.
“I panicked, the humor wasn't translating into the film. Greta had to fight. The studio asked her if she really needed the song and she said 'with every inch of my body' and then, they released it,” she added.
“I'm Just Ken”, performed by Ryan Gosling (Ken), became a sensation after the film. The song won an elaborate performance from the actor at the 2024 Oscars.
In addition to Ryan Gosling on vocals, Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash and the song's composers, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, were also present at the performance.
