A 29-year-old man was arrested this Thursday (4) after trying to enter the Casa Rosada, headquarters of the Argentine presidency, with a machete, a fork and disc-shaped saws. The information was confirmed to CNN by police sources.
“I’m going to commit an attack,” said the man, carrying a 40 to 50 centimeter machete. He tried to enter the presidential headquarters through a gate on the outside, located in Plaza de Mayo, but was unsuccessful, according to police sources.
Also according to information obtained by CNN , the man was “immediately immobilized and arrested by the Federal Police”. According to police sources, the man displayed “insane attitudes” and had “the characteristics of a homeless person”.
In addition to the machete, he had a two-pronged fork and five sharpening discs, and ended up arrested at 4:30 pm. He remains in prison and is in custody, accused of “public intimidation”.
