The history of AVX-512 instruction support in Intel Alder Lake processors seems to be coming to an end.

Recall that initially the company said that large cores in new CPUs would support this set of instructions. Then the corresponding mentions from the documentation were removed, although the support itself, as the tests showed, really exists. After that, Intel began to actively put pressure on motherboard manufacturers to update the BIOS of their models, removing support for AVX-512. Yet some did not.
And now it has become known that new batches of Alder Lake processors are already shipped with AVX-512 support disabled. That is, it will not work in any way. So far, this applies only to processors without the letter K, that is, almost all, except for a few top models. But Intel itself talks about processors in general, without singling out any models.
Although AVX-512 support was not disabled in some early Alder Lake desktop products, Intel plans to disable AVX-512 in Alder Lake products in the future.
Thus, if you really need support for this instruction set, it is better to buy a CPU now, after making sure that it is not from the latest batches.
