A young British rapper has managed to become the ‘most hated person in Manchester’ in less than a day after, in order to promote his new album, a graffiti which was dedicated to Ian Curtistheir frontman Joy Division.
As stated by dailymail.co.ukthe entire English city turned against the 23-year-old rapper Aitch, with household names such as Peaky Blinders director Anthony Byrneto characterize as “stupid” and “stupid” this particular actafter the painting was replaced by a poster of the upcoming album.

The young man, in a series of posts he made on social media, gave his own version of the event and stated that he did not know about the existence of graffiti and how the initiative was not his. Specifically, he said that the advertising company chooses the places to display the posters and he himself is simply informed for formal reasons.
However, in this case, he said that he woke up and as soon as he opened his mobile phone, he saw a lot of messages from angry people – including several of his fans – saying that this is something unacceptable that needs to be fixed immediately.

According to what has become known, it was not just a graffiti of Ian Curtis, but a tribute to people with mental health problems, about the life of the singer, who fought with his demons, which in the end bent him . In fact, it was created recently, in 2020 to be exact, during a mental health awareness campaign.
Apologies, reactions and forgiveness
As soon as the news broke, a “witch hunt” broke out in Manchester targeting the rapper Aitch, despite the fact that he made several public apologies within hours and said that restoration work had already begun.
“He’s an idiot for teasing the legend” and “this should never have happened… it’s disrespectful” are just some of the mild reactions on social media.
Nevertheless, a little later the Peter Hook who was the bass player of Joy Division, through a post, noted that it was wrong to remove the graffiti for advertising purposes, but thanked the young man for his attitude.
“Excellent gesture,” he said characteristically of the 23-year-old, who, upon learning that this local political heritage monument had been destroyed without his knowledge, demanded its immediate restoration.
