The Brazilian Gabriel Costa managed to escape from Kiev, Ukraine, after a long journey to Romania, which lasted 6 days. Today, the marketing director is in Berlin, Germany.
In an interview with CNN Radiohe said that the decision to leave the country was difficult, with several changes of mind over time, but that he had the support of a friend to be sure of what he would do.
“There are so many things that go through my head at that time, my things, studio, suitcase, friend, neighbor, at one point I decide to go and then change my mind, it was very complicated. I was only able to leave thanks to Cristiane, we settled on a decision to leave Ukraine.”
Even so, the feeling is conflicting: “I left dreams, plans, not just physical things, I can’t buy them, I was setting up a company.”
“I 100% want to go back to Ukraine, it’s the country I chose, the question is when, and when that moment comes, if I’m going to have that fire yet. Every time that passes, it hurts more to see the bombs that fall”, he added.
The Brazilian’s plan is, for now, to stay in Europe: “I want to be there, the day Ukraine wins [a guerra]which for me is just that possibility that exists, to rebuild.”
However, he admits that, in the meantime, “life goes on”: “I can’t stop because of the war.”
