One cruise ship which were in Antarctic during a severe storm he was struck by a huge waveas a result of which one passenger lost his life and four were injured.
In accordance with Maritime Executive a tourist from the USA diedwhile a representative of the company stated that the cruise ship Viking Polaris was sailing to Ushuaia, Argentinawhen “a giant wave incident” occurred.
“It is with great regret that we have confirmed that one passenger has died following the incident. We have notified his family and expressed our deepest condolences”, it is stated in a related statement issued.
Also, the ship sustained minor damage and anchored off Ushuaia, almost 2,000 miles from the capital city of Buenos Aires. It is noted that it belongs to Viking Cruises, one of the largest cruise companies in the world, which stated that it is “investigating the events surrounding this incident”.
