Huawei P50 and Huawei P50 Pro move to Snapdragon 888: Kirin 9000 stocks will run out by the end of this year

Huawei had a huge stock of 5G flagship Kirin SoCs last year, but those stocks are now running low, according to people familiar with the matter.

The flagship smartphone Huawei P50 was transferred several times, now its announcement is expected at the end of July, but no one will be surprised if the presentation is postponed this time. The source claims that the manufacturer simply lacks single-chip systems.

According to the latest reports, the standard version of Huawei P50 will be launched in early to mid-August, as previously reported, and already in September. The first batch of Huawei P50 will be based on the Snapdragon 888 SoC, while the smartphone will not have a modem for fifth generation networks.

As for the Huawei P50 Pro, the smartphone will be equipped with a Kirin 9000 single-chip system, but by December this year, the company will transfer the model to Snapdragon 888 with a 5G modem. This means that stocks of the Kirin 9000 will run out by the end of this year. As for the Huawei P50 Pro +, there is no information on this device yet.

There is also no fresh news about the fate of the Huawei Mate 50 line, which is rumored to have been pushed back to next year.
