How the price of gasoline is shaped by the new subsidies

Of Thanks to Floudopoulos

The measures announced yesterday by the government to subsidize the price of fuel bring significant relief to drivers, as the final prices that are formed fall below 2 euros per liter.

Specifically, for gasoline the subsidy for 180 liters of fuel reaches 44 cents per liter for the mainland and 52 cents per liter for the island areas.

This means that in Attica the final cost of gasoline for a driver who will receive the subsidy, is set at 1.96 euros per liter from 2.4 euros per liter.

Respectively for a driver in the Dodecanese the price of gasoline will be reduced from 2.55 euros per liter to 1.99 euros per liter.

For diesel, in an island area (Cyclades) from a price of 2.22 euros per liter the consumer will pay a price of 1.66 euros per liter.

It is noted that for the next quarter the subsidy on the diesel pump continues, which will be 0.12 euros per liter or otherwise 0.15 euros per liter with VAT. That is, diesel car owners will receive a double subsidy, both from the fuel pass and from the reduction of the price at the pump.

According to yesterday’s announcements made by the government, the amount of the subsidy for gasoline will increase from 45 to 80 euros for cars and to 60 euros from 35 for two-wheelers. In the islands the subsidy will reach 100 euros for cars and 70 euros for two-wheelers.

Choices

As for the options that vehicle owners have to collect this subsidy there are two. Specifically they can:

To issue the electronic fuel card so that they can redeem the amount that will be credited to it at the gas stations by the end of September.

Those who choose the smartphone for the issuance of the digital card will have an additional subsidy of 15 euros which means that the financial support depending on the type of vehicle (car or motorcycle) and the area where the main residence of the beneficiary is (mainland or islands) varies from 60 to 100 euros.

To collect the money by deposit in their bank account. In this case the amount of the subsidy will be smaller and ranges from 45 to 80 euros.

Finally, it is reminded that the beneficiaries of the aid are only natural persons tax residents of Greece, with an individual income that can not exceed 30 thousand euros.

This amount is increased by 3,000 euros for each additional member of the household (spouse / member of a cohabitation agreement and dependent children). Thus, for a couple it reaches 33,000 euros, for a couple with one child 36,000 euros, for a couple with two children 39,000 euros, for a couple with three children 43,000 euros and for a couple with 4 children 45,000 euros. According to the income criteria, the potential beneficiaries are 3.1 million out of the 3.5 million vehicle owners.
