How the 200 euro bonus works

The bonus 200 euros it is a one-off measure for Italian workers and retirees. It is one of the measures to support income announced by the Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, presenting the aid decree approved by the government. Also this measure, like the others of the decree, has the objective of limit the economic consequences of the energy crisis and the war in Ukraine on businesses and households.

What is it

This is a net increase in your pension or paycheck. The figure is 200 euros for pensioners, employees and self-employed workers with incomes up to 35 thousand euros. It should affect 28 million Italians. The funds, about 6 billion euros, come from the increase in the tax on the extra-profits of energy companies.

When

The new help is expected to arrive in the month of July. Only applies to 2022.

How does it work

It is not a bonus that is claimed, but one one-off payment. It comes only once directly with pension or pay slip.
