Housing starts jump 4.9% in October, to eight-month highs

US housing starts and building permits data for October was mixed, including a positive surprise. The Housing starts went from 1.459 million in September to 1.53 million in October, beating the market consensus that was for 1.46 million. It is the highest reading since February.

Regarding the building permits, remained at 1,545 million, with a slight increase to 1,56 million expected.

The data shows that the upward trend in the real estate market continues and that it is already at pre-pandemic levels.
