“House of the Dragon”: everything we know about the 3rd season of the series

The second season of “The House of the Dragon” came to an end on Sunday night (4), but fans were left wanting more.

The season finale saw the build-up to the impending war between the Targaryens for the Iron Throne. Both sides have already gathered their armies and summoned their dragons for the fight.

However, many viewers missed a bit more action (and dragons) in the story, which seems to have reserved the big battle moments between the beasts for the third season. Will they get what they want in the next episodes?

Look Everything we know about season 3 of “House of the Dragon”:

Is season 3 of “House of the Dragon” confirmed?

Yes! HBO officially confirmed the third season of the series on June 13, just days before the second season premiered.

In an interview with Variety in December of last year, the author of the saga, George RR Martin, had already stated that the series should have a third and a fourth season.

The fourth season has not yet been officially confirmed by HBO.

When is season 3 expected to premiere?

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing dragons dancing on our screens any time soon.

HBO has not yet released any forecast for the premiere of the third season of the series, but if we take into account the time elapsed between the end of the first and the return of the second, this period could reach two years.

The first season aired its final episode in October 2022 and we only watched “House of the Dragon” again in June of this year.

Will we have war in season 3?

The answer seems to be yes. Many fans of the series were upset by the apparent lack of action in the second season and a final episode that felt like a prelude to what was to come, but the writers seem to have saved the big battles for next season.

According to the showrunner, executive producer and writer of the series, Ryan Condal: “The final episode is a great conclusion to everything we saw in the second season and announces what is to come [na terceira].”

“While this season is about the beginning of a war, season three will clearly be about all-out war,” Condal said in the Inside The Episode segment of the final episode.

After all, the last few minutes of the episode show armies, ships, and dragons moving toward battle.
