Spanish police said today they had arrested a British teacher, a “dangerous sexual predator” he described as abused 36 young children in Madrid and has already been convicted in Britain.
The victims were 4-8 years old. The suspect had taken “a huge amount of photos and videos”, which he then posted on pedophile forums via the Tor network, which provides anonymity on the internet, police said in a press release.
The suspect, who occasionally cared for children, had concealed his previous convictions in Britain using a false identity and forged documents.
“He was taking advantage of his role as a teacher to reach out to victims and gain the trust of parents and thus be able to produce a huge amount of material,” according to police.
The investigation began in early 2020, when the Spanish police were informed by the Australian police that they had located on the Tor network photos, which seemed to have been published by a person in Spain.
Spanish police then realized that much of the photos had been taken at an elementary school in Madrid.
Investigators have finally revealed the teacher, who had changed his identity to hide the fact that he had already been sentenced to two years in prison in Britain for possessing photos of child victims of sexual abuse.
