Historic address of Ipanema, Satyricon opens an oyster bar

Founded in 1986 on Rua Barão da Torre, in Ipanema, the satyricon established itself as one of the most emblematic fish and seafood restaurants in the Rio de Janeiro .

And a nice novelty has just added to the menu at the classic address, known for its extremely fresh marine raw materials.

One oyster bar, opened in August. Right in the entrance hall that gives access to the halls, the space with 16 seats is an extension of the traditional ice bench where fish are exposed (sea ​​bass, grouper, red, halibut ) and crustaceans (lobster, cavaquinha, crayfish and shrimp ).

With a Mediterranean ambiance, the oyster bar offers an exclusive menu. A great request to start is the pizza di tonno (R$ 58) a white pizza topped with raw tuna carpaccio, coriander sprouts and wasabi.

Oysters from Santa Catarina can be ordered raw (R$ 63 – half a dozen) or topped with clarified soy sauce and lemon zest. The most tempting on the menu are the so-called Mediterranean plateaux, which arrive at the table filled with seafood.

One of them is the sardegna (R$ 268 – for two people), which brings two large Canadian scallops, six oysters and four crayfish in a beautiful presentation. The suggestion accompanies horseradish mayonnaise and truffle with dill.

If you want to try a dish next, the Italian-Mediterranean cuisine offers a variety of suggestions on an extensive menu that includes self-produced gnocchi with bisque with langoustine and cherry tomatoes (R$ 138) and the grouper grilled in butter with capers, mushrooms and shrimp (R$ 168).

Who currently runs the Satyricon are the brothers Bruno and Sandra Tolpiakow, sons of marly widow of the founder, the Italian Miro Leopardi .
