L'Hilton Molino Stucky Venice unveils its new suites designed by interior designer Biagio Forino, marking a new step in that ever-continuous process of renewal of the five-star hotel.
«When I arrived at Molino Stucky – he says Biagio Forino – I wanted to spend some time alone to absorb the Genius Loci. In fact, my inspiration can arise even just from a simple detail and, while admiring the spectacular view enjoyed from the numerous windows overlooking Venice, I wanted the hotel guests to could remain in contact with the dreamy atmosphere of the Lagoon».
Biagio Fiorino
The starting inspiration is always the industrial vocation of the building, whose architecture represents a unicum in the architectural panorama of the city. The original idea is respected and enhanced by the project, which gives renewed importance to some key elements, including the beams, the grain hoppers, the windows with their very particular shape. The new element is the constant and inevitable call to water of the lagoon which takes on a unique colour: a particular tone of aqua green that recurs in the upholstery Rubelli of sofas and armchairs, in the fabric of «Toile de Venise» screens, in the headboards and curtains.

The wallpaper of Inkiostrobianco enhances and reflects the light tones of the sun of Venice at sunset, allowing the city to enter the suites with the emotions it can arouse. The paintings by Mauro Grecale, embellished with gold leaf, have flashes similar to those of the mosaics of the Basilica of San Marco, while the table and floor lamps by Italamp are made solely with Murano's glass. The chandeliers Fortune they are a touch of whispered elegance, inevitable in every suite. Even the design of the furniture, in line with the previous style, is inspired by the lagoon: an example of this is the use of carbon fibre, the same with which the most modern boats are built.

Special attention is paid to sustainability: in the choice of materials, producers who operate with respect for the environment and the territory were selected, and all the products used are long-lasting, thus significantly limiting the environmental impact due to disposal.
«With this restyling intervention – he declared Massimiliano Perversi, General Director of the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice – we wanted to offer our guests not only large spaces and cutting-edge services, but above all a stay capable of creating fascinating, even aesthetic, suggestions. The experience is increasingly immersive, and begins right from the moment we enter what will be our temporary room home Venetian. I believe that these new suites are perfectly in line with this modern philosophy of hospitality, and we are very proud, today, to open their doors to our guests.”
