Hero puppy: husky detects gas leak and saves neighborhood from explosion

All dogs are heroes in their own way, each with a special superpower. But Kobe, a four-year-old husky who lives in Philadelphia, United States, can be proud of having managed to save an entire neighborhood.

It all started when his owner Chanel Bell noticed that the pet was digging holes in the front garden of her house. What may seem normal for a dog was considered atypical behavior for Kobe, who wasn't used to playing like this.

Chanel even posted about this strange attitude, wondering what the reason was. In an interview with the SWNS portal, the tutor said that she decided to follow Kobe's leads and that her intuition led her to investigate a possible gas leak. That's because weeks before she had had problems with a heater.

The owner brought a gas level detector close to the hole dug by the dog – and it immediately lit up. Authorities were called and worked for three days to fix the problem. According to Chanel's account, simply turning on a switch could have released a spark and caused an explosion that would destroy the entire house.

And the most interesting thing about this story is that Kobe saved a lot of people's Christmas! Everything happened on December 21st, just in time to ensure a peaceful and safe celebration. This whole adventure even inspired Chanel to write the children's book “The Dog Who Saved the Block Before Christmas”.
