Cenergy Holdings announced that Hellenic Cables, its cable division, has signed an Exclusivity and Capacity Agreement (ECA) for the supply of 66 kV XLPE inter-array cables and related components for the Hai Long 2 offshore wind farm and 3.
The Hai Long construction project in Taiwan consists of two offshore wind farms (OWF), Hai Long 2 (HL2) and Hai Long 3 (HL3), with a total installed capacity of 1,044 MW. The Hai Long Offshore Wind Project is one of Taiwan’s largest offshore wind farms jointly developed by Northland Power Inc., Yushan Energy Pte Ltd and Mitsui & Co.
The park will be located 40-50 kilometers off the coast of Changhua and will reach an underwater depth of between 35 and 55 meters. HL2 consists of 2 smaller wind farms (sub-wind farms), HL2A, with a maximum installed capacity of 300MW, and HL2B, with a maximum installed capacity of 232MW. HL3 has a maximum installed capacity of 512MW.
Under the contract, Hellenic Cables will supply approximately 140 km of XLPE insulated 66 kV inter-array cables with the associated accessories. The cables will be produced at Hellenic Cables’ vertical, state-of-the-art submarine cable factory in Corinth. Construction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024 for Hai Long 2 and in the last quarter of the same year for Hai Long 3.
