Heat Wave: See where tents set up by City Hall in SP are

The City of São Paulo reactivated the Operation high temperatures In the city on the morning of Tuesday (11). 10 tents were activated in five regions of the municipality.

The objective is to increase the care and network of protection and welcome to people in a vulnerable situation due to the heat wave . The operation is established whenever the temperature or thermal sensation reach 32 ° C.

In tents, people can hydrate and rest, with access to water, teas, cold juices and fruits. The units also have space for care and guidance to citizens about the necessary care with the animals on intense hot days.

  • Central Region: Republic Square and Marshal Deodoro Square;
  • Southern Region: Santo Amaro (Floriano Peixoto Square x Paulo Eiró Street) and Capela do Socorro (José Boemer Roschel Square);
  • North Region: Santana (Heroes Square of FEB, s/n) and Vila Maria (New World Square);
  • East Region: Guaianases (Presidente Getúlio Vargas Square, s/n), Itaquera (Moss Avenue with Flor x Imperador Avenue) and Mooca (Cid José da Silva Campanella Square);
  • West Region: Lapa (Rua do Curtume, s/n – corner with guaicurus).

Socio -educational advisors of the Specialized Social Approach Service (SEAS) also provide care in tents.

The Municipal Secretariat of Social Development (Smads) informed the balance of the operation on Tuesday (11), held between 10h and 16h. Check below:

  • 37,714 people in situations of vulnerability served
  • 37,584 water bottles
  • 6,223 cups of iced tea
  • 6 thousand fruits
  • 2 thousand glasses of water consumed from the drinking fountains provided by Sabesp
  • 59 animals served

Operation Altas Temperatures is an intersectory action, with the participation of the Municipal Secretariats for Social Assistance and Development (SMADs), Health (SMS) and Human Rights and Citizenship (SMDHC), which also has the support of the São Paulo Basic Sanitation Company Paulo (Sabesp).
