Hamas releases video showing handover of hostages to Red Cross officials

Hamas released a video showing several of the 24 freed hostages being handed over to Red Cross officials inside Gaza this Friday (24).

The video, which consists of a series of edited images and lasts just under two minutes, was released on the social media platforms of the Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

A CNN was not present at any of the locations at the time of filming and had no control over the content. Other than a few seconds at the beginning of the video, there is no audio in any of them.

After brief initial footage of several Red Cross vehicles apparently arriving at a drop-off point inside Gaza, the video shows six of the foreigners released today exiting two unmarked white cars, before being escorted by Red Cross officials toward to the organization’s vehicles.

In the images, several female Israeli hostages are shown, along with one of the children, also being transferred from unmarked white cars to the back of Red Cross vehicles.

Many of the videos show a heavy presence of armed Hamas men, wearing black balaclavas and green bandanas, escorting the hostages to the handover point.

A large number of people could also be seen surrounding the transfer, many of them filming the moment on their phones.

It was not immediately clear whether the transfers shown in the video were all carried out at the same location.
