The former mayor of São Paulo, Fernando Haddad (PT), appointed by President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) as Minister of Finance, said he will make the first announcements on the composition of his portfolio this Tuesday (13). The information was confirmed by Haddad himself to journalists.
The future minister scheduled a press conference at the headquarters of the transitional cabinet, at 6:30 pm, to announce part of his team. He also did not rule out announcing a third name, which still depends on conversations this Monday (12).
“I want to compose a plural team. I don’t want a school of thought running the economy.”, she said.
Regarding the nomination for Planning, which is between Ana Carla Abraão and Esther Duek, Fernando Haddad said that he made some “considerations” to Lula, despite the final decision being made by the president-elect.
The former mayor declined to comment on the possible appointment of Aloizio Mercadante to the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).
