Hacker from the interior of SP is arrested by Interpol in Serbia

The Civil Police of São Paulo announced this Monday (27) that the Brazilian Patrick César da Silva Brito, 27 years old, was arrested in the city of Belgrade, capital of Serbia. The preventive arrest warrant was fulfilled by Interpol last Friday (23). He is accused of hacking devices and extorting victims.

The hacker has been investigated for more than a year by the General Investigations Police Station (DIG) of Araçatuba (SP).

Among the victims of the criminal are the mayor of Araçatuba, Dilador Borges (PSDB), and the first lady of the city. Brito is accused of invading the couple’s social networks at the end of 2020 and asking for around R$ 70 thousand to release the accounts.

The hacker’s preventive detention was decreed by the Brazilian justice system after analyzing the testimony given by him to the police authorities, in which he confessed to the crimes.

The head delegate of the DIG of Araçatuba, Pedro Paulo da Costa Negri Garcia, told the CNN that Patrick’s fate now depends on administrative procedures, which will be under the responsibility of Justice and the consulates of Brazil and Serbia.
