At least ten people died and two others were injured after a gun attack in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on Saturday night (29). The information was confirmed by the State Attorney General’s Office, on Twitter, this Sunday (30).
In one of the messages, the Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that it had opened an investigation into the murders, which took place on Calle Gómez Rendón, in the southwest of the city.
At the site, according to another publication, weapons were found, including a shotgun and another 9 mm, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
On the same social network, the National Police of Ecuador said this Sunday that, due to the attack, its “investigation and intelligence units carry out operational actions to identify those responsible.”
So far, no arrests for the attack have been reported and no hypothesis has been raised about the origin of the crime.
The new massacre takes place two days after the State and Public Security Council (Cosepe), convened by President Guillermo Lasso at the Carondelet Palace, unanimously decided to declare the criminal groups operating in the country as “terrorists”.
