“Guitarist” kangaroo wins comical photo contest of wild animals; look

The recording of a kangaroo that appears to be playing the guitar was chosen as the overall winner of the 2023 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards. The moment was captured by Jason Moore in Perth, Australia.

“Few people know that kangaroos are normally quite docile and even a little boring most of the time. However, when I saw this one with a guitar pose, I immediately smiled. I knew I had captured something really special,” said Jason.

The photographer won a week-long trip to a safari, as well as a trophy.

Three other photographs were awarded: the “ballerina” otter, by Otter Lwek, in the “underwater” category; that of a heron diving, by Vittoria Ricci, in the “creatures of the air” category; and two baby birds that seem to be in an argument, by Jacek Stankiewicz, in the Junior and People’s Choice categories.
