A young woman in her twenties from Stresa filed a complaint with the carabinieri for group sexual violence which she allegedly suffered in the night between 24 and 25 June. What is most striking about the girl’s account is that four people she knew, perhaps even friends, were part of the “pack”.
Three men and a woman, specifically, who, at the end of an evening of fun and alcohol in the clubs of Lake Maggiore, would have taken advantage of the young woman. The rape allegedly took shape on one of the lakeside beaches, in Stresa, in the Piedmontese province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola.
The 20-year-old explained that the members of the group were roughly her peers, between the ages of 19 and 25, and residing in the area where the episode took place.
After the report, filed a few days after the incident, on Monday 27 June, the carabinieri went to the homes of the four reported to collect their version of the facts. The investigations, coordinated by the Verbania Public Prosecutor’s Office, are underway in the utmost confidentiality, but there are currently no suspects.
