Opposite to International Law but also to the Law of the Sea she characterizes in her letter to UN Greece, its movement Libya to submit its own letter declaring a border zone.
According to ERT, with its letter Greece states that the coordinates and the map contained in the Libyan letter are against International Law and the Law of the Sea for three reasons:
a) because closes the gulf of Sirtea move Greece has opposed since 1974,

c) mainly, because the coordinates submitted by Libya they follow the illegal demarcation of the 2019 Turkish-Libyan memorandum.
At the same time, the Greek side reiterates that the Turkish-Libyan memorandum is illegal and contrary to International Law and therefore the movements made based on the coordinates it provides are also illegal.
Finally, he also points out that such moves do not prejudge the rights provided by International Law for Greece and expresses the well-known Greek position that any problems with demarcations in the Eastern Mediterranean must be resolved peacefully on the basis of International Law and the Law of the Sea.
