In the midst of stress and pressure, one of the things that can make us see the optimistic side of life and its beauty, are photographs. In them, the colors, emotions and moments of the world around us are captured.
From Syntagma Square to Bolivia and the USA, the following photos will take you on a journey and show you the events that took place in the past week.
Not much needs to be said about the photos below. They are concentrated in them what happened in the world last week.
Greece, Athens: The country is one step ahead
With 175 “yes” passed the bill for the marriage of same-sex couples, on Thursday night (15/02). From the early afternoon hours of Thursday, a large number of people had gathered in Syntagma Square, where they watched the voting live. When the result was announced, people from the LGBTI+ community celebrated, as it is an important step towards improving human rights in Greece.
Attica: The seagull tangled in human garbage

The image above can only cause sadness. In her, it looks like one herring gull to fly in the sky of Attica, while it is entangled in a plastic bag. If each one of us becomes aware of the image and puts a hand in the problem of garbage and the climate crisis, then there will definitely be a future on this planet.
Britain: A different race

Pictured are pancake race winner Kaisa Larkas (center) runner-up Eloise Kramer (left) and third-place Rebecca Budd (right). The three women celebrate after the annual Transatlantic Pancake Race in Olney, Buckinghamshire England. Every year women dressed in aprons and hats from Olney and Liberal, Kansas, USA, participate in this street race with frying pans in their hands, which have a pancake contest inside. According to legend, the Olney Race began in 1445, when a distressed housewife arrived at the local church still holding her frying pan with a pancake inside.
Scotland, Glasgow: The rainbow at the lighthouse

In some cultures, the appearance of a rainbow is a sign of bad luck. Others believe that at the end of it, a treasure is hidden. However, in the photo it appears that the above rainbow starts from the lighthouse of its port Glasgow and we can do nothing but enjoy it.
USA: Super Bowl and super love

This past week, some celebrated Valentine's Day and some celebrated the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory. Taylor Swift celebrated both. The singer was at Allegiant Stadium and celebrated for her victory for the team of her lover, Travis Kelce, over the San Francisco 49ers. After the match, Taylor Swift ran up to give Kelsey a kiss, giving many a scene that reminded many of a scene from a movie.
Brazil, Rio de Janeiro: The last day of the carnival has arrived

Today is the last day of the carnival and the carnival goers are expected to give their best in the parade Rio de Janeiro. The photo shows the performers from the Mangueira samba school parading during the carnival celebrations. However, the whole world is waiting to see all the events that will take place today.
Bolivia: Optimism in her eyes

With the wonderful smile of the carnival woman dancing during “Jisk'a Anata”, which means “little party” in the indigenous Aymara language, in La Paz Bolivia, closes this week's photos. The optimism in her eyes is contagious and makes us want to smile too.
