‘Great threat to the lives of Jews in Germany’, sees an MKO

New forms of anti-Semitism that pose “a major threat to the lives of Jews in Germany through the relativization of Nazism, conspiracy theories and the glorification of terror,” said a prominent German human rights NGO.

The Berlin-based Amadeu Antonio Foundation, which works to combat far-right extremism, racism and anti-Semitism, published its findings today in its “Report on the Status of Civil Society”.

The “Creative Thinking” movement has paved the way for “new forms of anti-Semitism,” it says.

The movement is made up mostly of Covid-19 dissidents, far-right activists and anti-vaccinators, and has staged mass demonstrations.

In addition, the war in Ukraine is accompanied by anti-Semitic interpretations, such as equating the Russian invasion with the Holocaust, while anti-Israel demonstrations in Germany glorify terrorism.

Among the cases of anti-Semitism in the first quarter of the year reported in the report were two attacks on Jewish tourists in Berlin and an incident in Frankfurt, where some people carved a swastika on the front door of Jewish mayor Peter Feldman.

This anti-Semitic threat was reported by police in March.
