Great Christmas spirit! Family decorates their house with 444 Christmas trees and they get a world record

Who doesn’t like Christmas? It is definitely the most beautiful time of the year, as we not only spend time with our loved ones, but also cities are full of bright and luminous decorations, which make everything look magical.

Our homes are no exception, as many families follow the tradition of putting up a Christmas tree, decorated with lights, spheres, ribbons and stars. Sure, there are people who try harder and others who really do their best at Christmas decorations, but no one quite like a German family, who took the tradition of the tree to a new level.

Meet the Jeromin

Thomas and Susanne Jeromin are true Christmas lovers and each year they come up with new ways to decorate their home to celebrate this beautiful holiday. For three years, they have held the world record for the most Christmas trees located in one place.

In 2018 they installed 250 trees in their house. The following year, this number increased to 350. In 2020, they did not let the pandemic affect their Christmas spirit and put up 420 trees. But this year they broke their own record again, installing 444 Christmas trees!

They have no competition!

To qualify for the record, awarded by the German Registry Institute (RID), certain specifications must be met, such as that each tree must be decorated with its lights and garlands, just as you would decorate the tree in your living room. The Jeromins decorate each of the trees themselves, so they start decorating in August, to make sure their home will be ready before the first Sunday of Advent, which this year is November 28.

Among the 444 trees that they have in their house, you could not find two that are decorated in the same way. There are trees of all colors and sizes, some decorated in a very traditional way and others with stuffed animals or action figures of famous people.

Olaf Kuchenbecker, a RID representative, verified that there are indeed 444 Christmas trees in the Jeromins’ home.

When it comes to Christmas time, Susanne and Thomas Jeromin’s living room can no longer be seen due to trees everywhere. There is nowhere in the world where there are more Christmas trees, and nowhere else in the world is there such a lush feast for the eyes. This year, there is no denying that the Jeromins broke their own world record.
