Government unites ministries for task force in Acre after rain leaves dead and homeless

Minister of Regional Development, Waldez Góes stated, on his social networks this Saturday (02), that the federal government's task force to bring assistance to Acre, after rains left people dead and homeless, brings together at least six departments.

As determined by Lula, the ministries of Regional Development, Environment, Social Development, Health, Agrarian Development and Defense were mobilized.

“Our National Civil Defense personnel are already in the state, helping to prepare work plans for the assistance, restoration and reconstruction actions necessary for the people of Acre,” he wrote.

There are already more than 100 thousand people affected by the rains in Acre. There are more than 14 thousand homeless and homeless people. Entire cities were destroyed with entire neighborhoods, bridges, city halls, police stations, chambers and courts underwater.

From February 21st to March 1st, there were eight drowning calls to the state Fire Department. So far three people have died and one man remains missing.

Acre's Health Secretary, Pedro Pascoal, stated in an interview with CNN that recent floods in rivers in the region affected 19 of the state's 22 municipalities. Some cities had more than 50% of their areas affected.

Góes also stated that the federal government also works together with the state, its city halls and its group of parliamentarians.
