O Google Maps made available a new feature with immersive augmented reality experience main tourist attractions in Paris headquarters city of the 2024 Olympic Games in France.
When viewing the Eiffel Tower, for example, the user can travel back to the 1900s and recall the structure of the monument when it was built for the World’s Fair. According to the company, views of Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Tuileries Palace (before its demolition hundreds of years ago) are also available, all in the French capital.
Locations that have this type of view can be identified through Google Lens — an image recognition application activated through the device’s camera — or with Street View — a panoramic view feature.
To access the new feature while away, simply search for the location in the search bar, select the Immersive Experience and authorize the information coming from Google Arts and Culture — if you want to travel back in time.
The company had launched 3D maps of Paris for devices with the iOS operating system for the Olympics. The view offers more information about the game venues and the main tourist attractions of the French capital.
Based on important guides, the Maps application on the iOS operating system also offers recommendations for restaurants, hotels and shopping in Paris.
