Walison da Silva Andrade, arrested for theft, insulted and threatened judge Felipe Barros during a custody hearing at the 2nd Central de Flagrantes in Natal in Rio Grande do Norte, held on September 26th.
The session, which lasted just over eight minutes and was recorded on video, had moments of tension when the suspect interrupted and threatened the magistrate while he ordered preventive detention.
Upon hearing the decision, Andrade called the judge a “dog” and insulted him, saying: “Are you giving me a preventative? I don’t think you even wore underwear to court today. Preventative without me owing? Go put on a diaper, dog .”
During the hearing, Andrade also stated that he was dangerous, admitted that he had set fire to a military police vehicle and even said that he would blow up the forum if he was arrested.
“I set fire to a vehicle without even touching it. Only with my order. I’m more dangerous than Fernandinho Beira-Mar. All you have to do is snap your finger and the forum and your house will explode”, he threatened.
Andrade also stated that, if he were kept in prison, he would be the one who would make an attempt on the judge’s life.
“I’m the one who’s going to pop there if you give me jail. Do you confirm? Who are you talking to here? That I am from Carneiros”, mentioning the criminal faction active in Rio Grande do Norte.
Despite the threats, judge Felipe Barros maintained the decision, following the opinion of the Public Ministry, which highlighted Andrade’s criminal history, already accused of threats, theft and extortion.
When reading the sentence, the judge ordered the Institutional Security Office of the Rio Grande do Norte Court of Justice to monitor the prisoner.
“I didn’t feel threatened; It seems more rude to me than anything else. But, just in case, I will forward it”, commented the magistrate before ending the hearing.
The woman who had also been arrested in the same incident was released under precautionary measures, as she had no criminal record.
