The actor Peter Pascal (“The Last of Us”) used social media this Monday (8) to publish a behind-the-scenes photo of the film “Gladiator 2” . The new film stars him and the star Paul Mescal (“Normal People”) and will premiere in theaters in November of this year.
In a post on his Instagram profile, Pedro Pascal shared the official poster of his character for the film, as well as a photo of Paul Mescal behind the scenes, in character for the film. “Come and get it,” wrote the actor.
“Gladiator 2” is set 25 years after the events of the first film, in which Maximus (Russell Crowe), a powerful Roman general, arouses the wrath of Marcus Aurelius’ (Richard Harris) son, Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), before the emperor’s death.
The film will have a time jump and has Paul Mescal as the protagonist. The plot will center on Lucius, son of Lucilla and nephew of Commodus, who was inspired by Maximus. In “Gladiator” (2000), the character is a child, played by Spencer Treat Clark .
In addition to Pascal and Mescal, the cast also includes actors Denzel Washington (“The Equalizer”) and Connie Nielsen (“Gladiator”).
