Giulia Tramontano she passed away on May 27, 2023. This was said at the beginning. The truth is that Giulia Tramontano she was killed by her partner that May 27th. She was seven months pregnant with the baby who would be called Thiago. The trial for this brutal feminicide will have its first hearing on Thursday 18 January before the Assize Court of Milan. Giulia's family asks for an exemplary sentence for the man. Alessandro Impagnatiello's defense points to mental infirmity.
The past
We need to start from much further than May 27th to tell what happened. Alessandro Impagnatiello, a 30-year-old barman at the Armani Café (the Armani group suspended Impagnatiello from work «already during the days of the investigations»), for more than a year he would have had a double life, two parallel stories, the one with Giulia and the one with a Italian-English colleague, 23 years old. Both became pregnant, but the second decided to terminate the pregnancy.
On that Saturday there was a meeting between the two women right at the Armani bar in Milan. He should have been there too, but she left them alone and the two, talking, reconstructed what the barman had done: months of deception and lies, of a double life. He had told his colleague that everything was over with Giulia and had also shown her a false DNA test to prove that her baby was not hers. However, the girl had found evidence of the forgery on the iPad. The man also has a six-year-old son with another woman who, like the others, appears to have known lies and betrayals.
The crime
Giulia Tramontano died while returning home from this very meeting. At 6.30 pm she sends two messages on Whatsapp to her partner: “I'm coming home” and “Let me find you”. She would have arrived shortly after 7pm in Senago. The man was waiting for her at home and had organized everything, acting alone, although the position of her family was being investigated. Here, according to the investigators, there is premeditation. You killed her at 8.30pm. She hit her several times with a knife, 37 stab wounds in all and she was still alive after the last one, and also allegedly tried to cut the body into pieces. He couldn't and he started cleaning up the blood in the apartment. The forensic men found him anyway even though he had tried to erase the evidence by taking away bags with used rags. With the woman's body still in the house, he sent messages from her phone.
From here on, horror is added to horror: he attempted to burn Giulia Tramontano's body twice, first with alcohol and then with petrol, in the house and in the garage, but he failed. He moved the body between the garage, cellar and trunk of the car between Saturday and the following days.
He still contacted the other woman saying he was free, that Giulia had gone to sleep at a friend's house, after however saying that she is asleep at home. She didn't believe him and didn't let him in when he showed up at her house at two in the morning, perhaps with the aim of killing her too. After three in the morning on May 28th the second attempt to eliminate the body according to what Impagnatiello said in the interrogation.
The story of the next day
On the morning of Sunday 28 May Impagnatiello goes to work and only at 7pm did he report the disappearance of his partner, who his relatives were already looking for because he wasn't answering his phone. When he confesses, he will say that Giulia Tramontano's body was still in the garage at that moment, he would have moved it to the cellar on May 29th and the following day to the trunk of the T-Roc to take it to via Monte Rosa, less than 700 meters from his home , in a space between a row of garages and a fence.

The confession
The barman confessed when it was clear to the investigators what had happened: there were traces of blood in the car and in the couple's apartment and the testimonies had already made it possible to reconstruct what happened on the afternoon of Saturday 27 May.
Premeditation
In the previous months, it was reconstructed, he attempted to poison her with rat poison. The man's online searches show this: «how to kill a pregnant woman with poison», «how to poison a fetus». For this reason he was accused of murder aggravated by premeditation, cruelty, futile motives and the cohabitation relationship. The poison was detected both in Giulia's blood and hair and in the fetal tissues and hair of her baby. The man even increased the doses in the last month and a half of the woman's life.
Process
Preliminary issues will be addressed at the first hearing. We start from the requests for the constitution of civil parties: the woman's family and the Municipality of Senago, assisted by the former prosecutor Ingroia. The defense will have the possibility of filing the psychiatric consultation on the accused and requesting an expert opinion to ascertain any mental defects. On the defense witness list there are only a psychologist and a psychiatrist.
Accusations
The former barman is accused of voluntary homicide aggravated by premeditation, futile motives, cruelty and the obligation of cohabitation. Added to this are the non-consensual termination of pregnancy and the concealment of a corpse. If he were found capable of understanding he would risk life imprisonment. His defenders want to demonstrate that he was not at the time of the murder. Two women defend him: Giulia Geradini and Samanta Barbaglia.
The public prosecutor, also in this case two women Letizia Mannella and Alessia Menegazzo, deputy prosecutor and prosecutor, indicated among the witnesses: the investigators of the investigative unit of the Milan Carabinieri, the technical consultants who worked on the case and all the victim's family members. The 23-year-old Italian-English colleague with whom Impagnatiello had a relationship should also testify.

Giulia's sister, Chiara, launched an appeal on social media in recent days asking for justice.
“Here we are. We want to know that we live in a just country. Nothing will bring Giulia back to us, but justice can alleviate the perennial sense of frustration and defeat that we feel in front of my sister's tombstone.
JUSTICE for the grandson we will never cradle, for our destroyed life, for the silences that will accompany every Christmas, every Giulia's birthday, every holiday in which there will no longer be 5 of us at the table.
JUSTICE for Giulia, who lost her life, her family and last but not least, her son Thiago.
JUSTICE for Chiara, who lost her older sister, guide, shoulder and shelter from the storm
JUSTICE for Mario, who at just 21 years of age carried the coffin of his sister and nephew on his shoulders and silently screams torment and pain
JUSTICE for Loredana and Franco, whose life stopped that day and who live in the sole memory of their daughter Giulia, who they cradled from day one and raised for 29 years with love and dedication. Today they are lifers of pain in front of the photo of their daughter imprinted on a piece of marble.
If you want, reshare to shout JUSTICE for my sister and my nephew, barbarically killed on May 27, 2023.”
