The singer Gilberto Gil 82, announced this Thursday (21) new dates for the last tour of his career “Tempo Rei”, which will pass through 10 cities in Brazil in total.
The new presentations will take place on May 31st and June 1st, 2025 at Rio de Janeiro a city that sold out quickly. São Paulo had already won extra shows — which only has one more date with tickets available.
“Tempo Rei” will also have dates in the United States and Europe (not yet announced). The tour, named after one of the musician’s songs, ends Gilberto Gil’s career on stage.
The repertoire of the shows recalls his careers as a singer, composer, tropicalist who was arrested by the military dictatorship and went into exile in London, the Minister of Culture, the immortal of the Brazilian Academy of Letters, the Doctor Honoris Causa by the Berklee College of Music, in Boston; the holder of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (Uerj); and the patriarch of a musical family.
